COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Community Outreach Program

Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Greater LA

Since Welbrook Santa Monica was founded in 2016, our relationship with the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Greater LA has been one of our main priorities. Every year we join The Walk to End Alzheimer’s and The Making Memories Festival to raise funds to help finally put an end to Alzheimer’s and other related dementia.

Both of these walks will take part in September-November every year. These walks help us support finding a cure and raise awareness for these diseases.

Pacific Neuroscience Institute

A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s can leave people with many unanswered questions and feeling alone at a very difficult time. Like Welbrook, PNI is a resource that focuses only on Neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s. They can assist with finding an appropriate and knowledgeable neurologist, offering support groups, and even offering ongoing clinical trials for those in the Early Stages of Alzheimer’s. We are so happy to work alongside these doctors and researchers to help improve the lives of those suffering from this disease. For more information about PNI and its services, we would be happy to connect you.

Community Outreach

UCLA Brain Initiative

The UCLA Brain Initiative is a virtual volunteer program, in which Neurology students present activities that stimulate  cognition and memory among residents. These exercises include word scrambles and anagrams, math equations, trivia, and recognition of picture, painting, and geography concepts. Over the years, this program has created lasting bonds and meaningful moments between the residents and students, in addition to developing mental stimulation.
